  • Statement from the CCPJ Board

The pandemic and the outcry for racial justice

Updated: Jun 29, 2020

The pandemic and the responses to it have laid bare many truths about injustice in our nation. The mounting toll of police and vigilante murders of black men and women have sparked historic protests throughout the country and the world. They have been met with a conflicting mix of more police brutality along with moves toward conciliation and unity.

This is a pivotal moment in our national history. How to guide a transformation toward greater peace and justice will drive CCPJ's agenda going forward. Consider these questions:

  • What are we learning from this national and global crisis?

  • What injustices are being revealed?

  • Are there positive effects in the response to the crisis?

  • How are our values changing?

  • What forces will be at work in setting the transition to a new normal?

  • How should we recast the themes for our major issues?

This discussion will continue at future meetings. Please join us!

Our next Zoom meeting is on Sunday, July 5, at 4 p.m. See our "Contact" page.
