Peace Education Programming

CCPJ and Veterans for Peace Charlottesville Chapter #171 are currently involved in a new, long-term effort aimed at educating people about relevant Peace & Justice issues including war, violence, peacebuilding, environmental concerns, veterans issues, community service and social justice.  Join us in the following ongoing endeavors:

  • educating local youth about post-high school national and community service opportunities (such as Americorps and NCCC).

  • help guide local youth toward peaceful career options including job corps, private and public sector employment.

  • educate young adults and youth about selective service registration and conscientious objection to war.

  • connecting veterans with young people to talk about war, violence and veteran issues.

  • provide second opinions and veteran advice to individuals interested in military service.

  • engage school communities in issues of war, violence and social justice.
