U.Va Law School Asst. Prof. Deena Hurwitz will present a free public lecture/discussion entitled "Whose Rights? The Global Role of International Human Rights Today". The talk will be given at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church (TJMC) at 7 pm Sunday Nov. 18, 2007.
Prof. Hurwitz directs the Law School's Human Rights Program and the International Human Rights Law Clinic. Over the past few years she has worked in Afghanistan and Lebanon on clinical legal education and in Suriname on the rights of indigenous peoples.
This talk is part of TJMC's Faith in Action lecture series designed to focus on topics of community-wide interest in which citizens can become involved. Public parking is available in church parking lots.
