No More Nukes at Lake Anna – Two Ways to Help!

1. Please continue to send your comments about the proposed nuclear power plant at Lake Anna to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission at NORTHANNA.Colaeis@nrc.gov [19].
Public comment should stress global warming issues, ongoing and ever-worsening drought conditions in central VA and the entire Southeast and the impact of drought on nuclear plants (threats of shutdowns, etc.).Stress that we have a water crisis throughout Virginia, that Lake Anna is not a sufficiently robust body of water to sustain any additional reactors and that it is already ecologically impaired.
Message should be site-specific as that is all the NRC is concerned about for the purposes of this public comment period.
2. The People's Alliance for Clean Energy (PACE) and Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League (BREDL) as well as three Louisa residents are appealing (in court) the decision by our own VA Dept. of Environmental Quality
to issue Dominion a 316A variance to continue to use the "cooling
lagoons" at Lake Anna as its own private Waste Heat Treatment Facility
and dump water used to cool nukes without an upper temperature limit.
This is in violation of the Clean Water Act.
