Description
At 4:45 on Saturday, October 27, come find out how you personally can help slow the course of global warming! Our edition of the Step-It-Up Speakout, a nationwide series of thousands of events, will draw some of the state's foremost authorities on the science and politics of global climate change, including Paul Ferguson (current Chair of the Arlington County Board of Supervisors and probably the most accomplished climate action advocate holding elected office in Virginia); and Mike Tidwell (founder of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network - CCAN). The Speakout concludes a day-long conference hosted by CCAN at U.Va. Look for the Charlottesville posting at the national website, www.StepItUp07.org - though note that our event is a week earlier than most.
(The stone amphitheater is immediately off the South Lawn surrounded by Cocke, Minor, Bryan and Garrett Halls. Easiest parking is in the guest garage on Emmett Street - though carpooling is recommended as parking can be tight.)
(There is also info on the day-long CCAN conference at www.VAclimateaction.blogspot.com .)
