On Saturday evening, November 17, John McCutcheon will perform a farewell concert to benefit the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Performing Arts Center. Tickets will also be available for a post-concert reception where John McCutcheon will meet and talk with concert-goers over hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages.
Tickets are available for sale at New Dominion Bookstore, Sidetracks, & Sneak Review Video. Tickets are $50 for the concert and reception, or $25 for the concert only.
Widely considered a master of the hammer dulcimer, the predecessor of the piano, McCutcheon has performed to sold-out audiences around the world, in venues ranging from Russia to Dallas.
Garnering seven Grammy nominations and almost every imaginable award in the independent record industry, John McCutcheon has brought joy to millions of listeners. After spending years as a local resident, McCutcheon now lives in Atlanta. His farewell benefit concert for the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice provides the opportunity to witness his blend of song and story, humor and pathos, contemporary and traditional, in an exhilarating celebration of Americana.
