International Peace Day Celebration

The U.N.-SPONSORED INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE 2009. 
 
September 21 is the International Day of Peace when thousands of communities in the global community celebrate their commitment to a more peaceful, just and sustainable world. In Charlottesville, this celebration will take place at Unity Church, 2825 Hydraulic Circle, starting at 7:00 PM, Monday, September 21. Peace-related music, stories, and poetry will be offered by talented people from our community, including cellist Tanya Anisimova, guitarist Ali Youssefi, and others.  The event is sponsored by the Interfaith Cooperation Circle of Central Virginia and Unity Church, along with several partners, in a local effort to create a world-wide culture of peace.  A suggested donation of $5 - 10 is requested at the door; children are free.
