2008 Columbus Day Protest with Miss Representation

Description
Join me in both protesting the recognition of Columbus Day as a national holiday and celebrating the indigenous cultures of the Americas. After standing at the statue during the rush hour commute, we will walk down the mall together to the Free Speech Wall where we can speak or write on the wall about the indigenous people who once dwelled where Charlottesville now stands (http://www.monacannation.com/aboutus.shtml).
Also, I intend to participate in the persona of Miss Representation again. Last year I found that standing out there as a hysterically cheerful beauty queen seemed to open people up to some lively discussions in a way that just plain old street clothes wouldn't have. Please feel free to join me as my pals did last year (Miss Information, Miss Take, etc.). A whole battalion of red-white-and-blue beauty queens would be very effective in raising awareness.
I have a few huge banners from last year, but we need more. Join me for a spell to make a few signs on Saturday, Oct. 11th, around 3 at Riverview Park down by the Woolen Mills.
This day is also an apt occasion to give attention to the six Virginia tribes who are still seeking federal recognition. They have been in the news this week, although it doesn't sound like much progress will be made in 08:
