Impeachment Begins July 25th
At 10 a.m. on Friday July 25th, the House Judiciary Committee will hold a preliminary hearing on the topic of impeachment, with a presentation by Congressman Dennis Kucinich. This is not yet a true impeachment hearing, but it is our opportunity to push for one, and it represents a tremendous victory after years of effort by millions of Americans who want to keep the Constitution alive. This never would have happened without your hard work. And we can't let up now!
The National Impeachment Network is organizing a rally and asking everyone who can to take a day off for justice and meet at 9 a.m. on Friday July 25th in front of the Rayburn House Office Building on the Independence Avenue side. Bring impeachment shirts and posters! For more information contact ningroup@gmail.com
NOTE: The hearing has not been announced, but two members of Congress closely involved in this have told us it is at 10 a.m. on the 25th, and Chairman Conyers himself has so informed Veterans for Peace.
Between now and Friday the 25th, please take these steps:
Contact your member of Congress in support of impeachment.
Ask the media to cover the hearing.
Sign the petition at Congressman Kucinich's website.
Wonderful,
Oil and gas prices are driving the average person into the poor house, the economy needs help and what does Kucinich want to waste time on, an impeachment hearing. No wonder the congress has a single digit approval rating. These people are more interested in press coverage and power then running an efficient government. These power hungry morons need to get their heads out of their butts and start working on whats important for the people not their party. Besides naming a bunch of post offices and raising the minimum wage (which increases unemployment among teenagers) they have done nothing. Boy I can't wait until they control the executive branch as well as the legislative then we can really look forward to a booming economy. Higher corporate taxes forcing more business overseas, increased capital gains taxes forcing investment overseas, that will really help our economy. IN CASE ANYONE IS INTERESTED BUSINESS AND CORPORATIONS DON'T PAY TAXES THE CONSUMER DOES. Something Obama doesn't seem to realize or most liberals as far as that goes.
Hardly
You miss the point. Corporations don't pay taxes! Increases taxes on corporations is the same as increasing taxes on you and me. You obviously have never run a business, taxes are another business expense. What do businesses do when expenses go up? They pass them on to the consumer. Another point is that the large majority of the stock of the oil corporations are owned by the average person, either in their mutual funds or by their retirement funds. By punishing the oil companies for being successful we are all punished.
Taxing the oil companies won't solve the gas problem. What will solve it is conservation, exploration and alternate forms of energy. This will not happen until both sides of the aisle decide to put America first and politics last.
